I'm not going to say much about Shimano's XT cranks. I really don't need to. They are, IMHO, the one and only crankset you'll ever need for your mountain bike. I have them on just about all my bikes, including my Yeti ARC and Ibis Mojo. They'll also be going on my BMC Trailfox all mountain bike here very soon.
I'm sure XTR cranks are great, but to me there is really no need to spend that kind of money when XT cranks are so damn good. I've been using them for years and NEVER had any issues. They work flawlessly.
THE BOTTOM LINE..
Don't even do any research... just buy them. Shimano XT cranks are all you'll ever need in a crankset.
