For my Kona Cowan project bike, I wanted a set of really durable wheels. That bike was mostly going to be used for pump track riding, but I also wanted to do a little urban riding so the wheels had to be tough. I'd heard good things about the Azonic Outlaws, and thats what I ended up getting for the Kona.
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS..
These wheels rule. Thousands of laps on my pump track, a little dirt jumping here and there, and the wheels never failed me. What more could you ask for? One nice thing about these wheels is that parts are included to convert them from throughaxle to QR and back without needing to buy anything additional...all parts are included! The front can be traditional QR or 20mm through-axle, which is what I used with my Manitou Gold Label fork. The rear wheel can be 12mm through-axle or traditional QR.
When I bought mine, they were only available in black, but now Azonic is making them in all sorts of cool colors... black, white, anodized grey, anodized red, and anodized gold.
THE BOTTOM LINE..
If you are looking for a tough set of wheels for dirt jumping, urban, park, and even all mountain, the Azonic Outlaws are tough to beat.
WHERE AND HOW TO BUY..
Like a lot of my bike parts, I picked these up at JensonUSA.com. They are also available at PricePoint.com
